Nota Dari Etruscan - 2013 - the publishing saga.

Honestly, that is what I feel, too.

Aku punya manuskrip, aku target bukan 20% pembaca novel Melayu, tetapi the another piece of pie, 80% yang tak baca novel Melayu. That is a very strong market, a huge potential for a classy niche. Aku tak mahu cakap manuskrip aku bagus, tapi come on, take it and read it first. THen tell.

Penulis suka editor puji manuskrip dia, standard lah. Aku pasti, in later stage, conflict akan timbul apabila editor mula slash sana sini. It is okey to delete, tapi buatlah dalam suasana yang friendly dan manis muka. That's all. Kalau response editor terlalu kering, walaupun LULUS, aku jadi kurang selera nak bekerjasama.

It was not what I want.

At least, komen. You are the editor, you know those stuff. It is like, "okey Khairi, this manuscript, is heavy. Any idea how we want to sell it?"

Setakat ini, Alaf21 tidak mahu ambil risiko tetapi berjanji untuk take up if Buku Prima also refused. Kalau Karangkraf tidak sudi, aku rasa tiba masa untuk aku terbit buku aku sendiri. Atau ke dubukpress, atau fixi.

Cuma Fixi, doubtful. Why should the title be ONE WORD??? The Lord of The Ring, jadi... Ring?
The Lost Symbol jadi... Symbols???? Come on dude...

"This kind of novel will take time to sell, Khairi," kata kak Awin. Aku setuju. That's why we need a strong marketing, and creative cover and specific blurp to get the right readers, right market.
